An Illustrated Birth Journal
2025 · Personal project
A personal project exploring how drawing can become a way of remembering. Rather than documenting events, each page captures emotions, conversations and small details that shaped one of life's most transformative experiences.
Memory beyond the photograph
The final spread condenses the entire experience into a single image, where the hospital room fades away and only the encounter between mother, father and child remains. And sometimes not as one could have expected.
Drawing to heal
Looking back, this journal became more than a record of childbirth. It became a way of slowing down, processing what happened and preserving memories that might otherwise have disappeared. It was also a way of letting go of the explerience that didn't happen the way I wanted, and the first step into healing from something that left me marked and changed me forever.
