Illustrated map of Barbados
2024 · Personal project
An illustrated journey through the architecture, wildlife and everyday places that define Barbados.
Instead of creating a conventional tourist map, I wanted to portray the small details that give Barbados its identity. The illustrations combine architecture, nature and local life to build a visual portrait of the island, where each stop becomes part of a larger story.
Each illustration is designed to work both as part of the map and as an independent visual asset for future editorial or promotional uses.
Close-ups reveal the small details that encourage slower exploration of the island.
One of the most recognizable elements of Barbados is its colourful Chattel Houses, illustrated here as a collection of individual architectural portraits.
Wildlife appears throughout the map as another way of understanding the landscape and everyday life of the island.
